Happy New Year! 2015 is off and running, somehow even faster than 2014! I have received MANY inquiries as to when we would be hosting our next songwriting workshops. I am pleased to announce that we will be having one in Topanga and one in Seal Beach to accommodate as many students as possible. We will be diving into the poetry of Georgia Douglas Johnson. Georgia was a preeminent female writer during the Harlem Renaissance. Her poetry is beautiful, resilient, and incredibly profound in light of the news unfolding around us.Feel free to invite friends who are not currently a part of the FP program and forward this on to anyone you feel might have an interest. The afternoon workshops are a great opportunity to bring along a friend and have fun making some music! No prior music training or writing experience is necessary… we guide all participants through the fun writing process. We have all ages and have found that the difference in ages often leads to even more creative approaches musically and lyrically. The discussions and compositions are priceless. In the end, we have a lovely batch of sweet songs and new, collaborative friendships.Details:LA/TOPANGAJanuary 17th, 2015 2pm-5pm21745 Entrado Dr. Topanga, CA 90290$85 per student paid in advancechecks payable to FORTE POESY or pay online at https://squareup.com/market/forte-poesy-musicRSVP to email@example.com or call 615-522-7058OC/ SEAL BEACHJanuary 18th, 2015 3pm-6pm219 14th St. Seal Beach, CA 90740$85 per student paid in advancechecks payable to FORTE POESY or pay online at https://squareup.com/market/forte-poesy-musicRSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 615-522-7058
